A moody evening at The Moody Blues Restaurant

If you are looking for cultured family dining along with tempting food at one place, then you can settle for Moody Blues.

The place attracts a good crowd from all around Bhubaneswar and it’s a perfect place for some good food along with good memories. And I am not being prejudiced over here. We will soon discover why !

I started for the restaurant with family at around 7 pm and reached on time to find a table for all of us.

The first feel you would get is that the place is sophisticated and offers a good time for a fulfilling experience.

To start, Moody Blues is located at Gajapati Nagar, Bhubaneswar in the same building where Barbeque Nation is present and both are in the same lane as the Zaika Palace Restaurant.

Here’s the complete address of “Moody Blues Restaurant”.

Triplex, Gajapati Nagar, Bhubaneswar, Odisha 751013

Ease of access:

It’s located right near the Kalinga Hospital Square and can be easily located by anyone who is fairly new to the place.

Upon reaching any place the first thing that concerns me is, if I would get a spot to park?

They have their own parking space and I was easily able to park my car at the right spot.

There’s a dedicated parking space available and you won’t be troubled about parking issues.

The first thing that I observed was the sanitization bottle placed outside the main door.

The security guard standing outside the door took a check upon our temperature and we sanitized our hands while making our way into the restaurant.

So, you can be rest assured that sanitization will be duly taken care of.

At the reception desk, we didn’t have to wait long enough to find a spot for us all.

NoteThey do accept pre-booking. So you must book your seat in advance to avoid last-minute rush.

After entering the restaurant, the first impression is always the ambience, because it is what we are left with our memories of the experience.

Here’s what I felt about the ambience of Moody Blues Restaurant.

4. Ambience and Service

Its spread across a vast area of roughly 3200 sq. ft. that too excluding the bar space and has around 18 tables, dimly lighted with soft music.

The area has a spacious seating arrangement that would certainly house 130+ customers at any point of time.

The vibe as already mentioned is cultured that offers good family time.

The service of the restaurant was very good. The staff were very courteous and they are well aware of what they can serve the best to their customers.

They help in recommendations of what to try out when in need of suggestions.

The food was served roughly in a time interval of 20 mins when it was ordered.

So we didn’t have to wait long enough to get started.

5. Taste and Price of the food

The pricing is a little bit on the higher side but gets justified by the taste and the service offered.

I had to pay around 3600/- for 4 of us.

The food was served steaming hot and the taste added to the preparation.

Here’s a quick overview of what we had for dinner:

  1. Chicken Shorba – 4.3/5
  2. Rozali Kebab – 4.3/5
  3. Chicken achari Tikka – 4.6/5

Main course:

  1. Kashmiri Nan – 4.3/5
  2. Masala kulcha – 4.4/5
  3. Chicken Patiala – 4.4/5
  4. Lasagnia – 4.3/5

  1. Chocolate Boom – 4.5/5
  2. Cheese cake – 4.2/5

  • Virgin Mojito – 4/5

Taste of the Food

All the items that we had for the dinner were good although quantities were comparatively less.

Especially achari chicken tikka is a must-try. It is soft, juicy, and perfectly blended with masala leaving you to crave for more of it.

Overall Rating:

  1. Ease of access – 4.6/5
  2. Ambience – 4.4/5
  3. Service – 4.6/5
  4. Taste – 4.4/5
  5. Price – Fairly priced.

Final rating: 4.5/5.

Here’s my final take on it

11:00 in the foodmaniak’s clock of 1-12.

1 stands for “No venture zone for foodies”.

12 stands for “This is THE place for Food Maniaks”.
